Yesterday was cold and we had a blizzard warning in the forecast so, after dropping off my kids at school, I headed out to run some errands. For me errands usually means also sneaking in a few thrift store stops. Even with the schools dismissing at 12:30 because of the weather, I was able to sneak in a few finds. At Goodwill I found 3 pieces of pale blue Wedgwood jasperware to add to my sister’s lovely collection. My total was under $4.00 for the 2 small plates and trinket box so my sister was very happy. It was just starting to snow when I snapped these pictures.
My next stop was Salvation Army where I found a large Chalkware dog. My guess is it dates to the 1940’s and was given out as a carnival prize.
My last find is a needed sign of spring. This extremely kitschy Easter decoration is made of a hand blown egg. One side is open with a glittered interior and two mini plastic bunnies inside. The outside of the egg is decorated with an ornate gold ribbon trim, straw flowers and has a white plastic base.
Warmer weather has to come soon. I can’t wait for garage sale season to start.
