This weekend I decided to put my vintage American flag out. The box is very cool and dates it probably to the early 1960’s.
The flag is made of 100% cotton so I will be switching it out for a newer more durable nylon flag that will weather the Iowa climates better in a few days. But for now it is super fun to watch it fly.
This weekend My dad and I also took a 45 minute road trip to a small town citywide garage sale. We didn’t find much but enjoyed the countryside. The one find I was excited about was an old wooden WWII bomber airplane toy. Let’s just say the condition was not good, but it was only $2.00 so I had to see if I could fix it up. I can only imagine how many miles this plane has on it from kids playing with it.
After a good cleaning and an application of glue it now looks much better. The paint colors and graphics still excite kids today. My son flew it around the house while I held my breath that he wouldn’t crash or drop it.
