Private Stash: PA Microphone

I’ve had this little guy for years. My mom bought this vintage PA microphone for $1 at a public school auction held to clear out the ancient building where I attended 5th and 6th grade so it could be demolished. It’s always sad when an old building meets its end, but occasionally gems like this come out of the dust. It has followed me from my parents’ house to college to my current home, but as much as I appreciate its form, I’ve never quite figured out the right place to put it. It has done the tour of end tables, hid out under legged furniture and did a long stint on the back of an old television set. But tonight I spied it lodged between a spool of speaker wire and a stack of kitten-themed waxed paper cups on the top shelf of the bookcase in closet of my guest room. Maybe it’s time I found this nomad a permanent home in my home. Any ideas?
