This jack-o’-lantern is my only vintage Halloween decoration. I hardly ever see old Halloween items when I’m out at sales, so I was very excited when I spotted this at a tag sale for $0.25. This jack-o’-lantern is a hard plastic squeak toy with a black cat that pops out when the top opens. The toy squeaks as the black cat is pushed back into the pumpkin. It is marked on the inside made in Hong Kong. There is also a matching jack-o’-lantern with a ghost that pops-up. My family loves Halloween and I’m hoping this green-eyed black cat is just the start to my collection of old Halloween items. I’m already on the hunt for an old paper mache jack-o’-lantern, the ones that kids used to carry around and fill with sweets.

I love that!!
I’ve been looking all over for these little pumpkins with kitty, I used to receive one every Halloween as a kid from my Aunt and from my mom- Unfortunately I must’ve lost them all in the process of growing up! If you know of the specific name for these little pumpkin toys with the black cat popping out I would appreciate it, thanks! They used to sell them everywhere in the 80’s- CVS, Stop & Shop, Walgreens, etc.
