There’s been a trend in my purchasing not to buy anything unless it makes me wildly happy or has a functional purpose. This doesn’t keep me out of trouble all of the time, but it’s been helping me curtail the accumulating piles of things waiting to be cleaned and displayed. One of my favorite finds that fulfills both criterion is this tin sand pail from the early 1960s.
You can see peeking out of the top an assortment of baby things I use weekly like fingernail clippers, diaper rash cream and more. It’s on a bookshelf and therefore easily accessible to me, but out of my little guy’s reach. Who wouldn’t like to look at that happy lion every day? Plus it matches my curtains. More on that in another post! There’s not too much info about it or the illustrator, only that it was free with purchase of bars of soap.
