Private Stash: Royal Haeger Dish

Royal Haeger Pottery

I love the look of vintage pottery and have a pretty large collection, so when I spotted this piece at a local monthly flea market, I bought it. I just love this matte green color. I have five more pieces of pottery in this color above my fireplace. This leaf-shaped dish was made by Royal Haeger. The Haeger Potteries company has been around for over 140 years. In researching this piece on-line, I found that Elsa Ken Haeger designed a line a pottery from 1954-1963 with the markings RG on the bottom. This piece is marked Royal Haeger RG 65 USA. The RG stands for The Royal Garden Flower-ware line. The line included 198 different designs starting with the earliest piece being marked RG 1. I also found a second piece of pottery I have in this line marked RG 6, which makes it a pretty early piece. Haeger Potteries or Royal Haeger is wonderful pottery to collect and you can usually find it at great prices. This piece I snagged for only $0.25!
