Private Stash: Plastic Clown Toy

I really want to call this post “What the free?!” Sometimes it’s crazy what people throw into a free box.

Tammy and I went to a garage sale that two adorable retirees were having. They spoke with thick German accents and we could tell they weren’t wanting to sell much of what they had. Hardly anything was priced. While we waited around for them to pull things out and price, we decided to check the free box.

We wasted no time shoving them into a bag, along with other wooden blocks.

The color palette makes me think they are from the 1950s.

I’d like to say that my son put these together, but of course I did immediately after taking them home. They can be configured so many different ways that a good hour was spent arranging them on my end table. Unfortunately they are plastic and are pretty stiff and tough to piece together. But who could ask for more in a free box?

Oh my… haven’t seen these since I was a kid in the 1960s. They were hand-me-downs from someone.

Hi Jaci! I’m curious: did you actually play with them? So far my son is very uninterested. Maybe when he’s a bit older?
