Last year I posted about this little guy…
He is a mohair owl named Wittie. Steiff produced him from 1954 to 1977. His best feature are those glow-in-the-dark eyes.
After finding him, I have been on the lookout for other Steiff owls. This January I finally found another at a consignment shop. My mother was along and insisted on getting it for my birthday. Unfortunately my birthday is not until October, but I did snap these photos before she stored him away.
This 9″owls name is “Wiggi” and was produced from 1976-1983. Unlike my first owl, he has his original button and tag.
I was thinking I would strictly be collecting Steiff owls, until I ran across these two animals at the same consignment shop that I had found my second owl. Their $8.00 price tags screamed, “Take me home!”
This snow white bunny is 8″ tall with bright red and pink eyes. If he still had his name tag around his neck it would have read, “Ango”. He has his button and ear tag that reads, “Made in Western Germany”.
The Steiff name of this pig is “Jolanthe”. He measures about 6″ tall. The bunny and pig are both made of woven fur and date from 1970s to 1980s. I like the airbrushed features. Just check out the pig’s snout and cheeks…
