This weekend my husband and I were tearing out the last remnants of our once-finished basement that had water damage, therefore I was only let out of the house to go to one tag sale. While I didn’t find anything, it was still fun to be out thrifting. So back into my private stash I must go.
Who wants to learn about thread? All hands went up…right? Apparently some of the nonsense that inhabits my dining room hutch are black glass plates, and my latest acquisition is a tray from Coats & Clark. On the front is an illustration depicting thread’s usage through time, and on the back is a more detailed description of how thread has been used throughout history.
This piece is a promotional item for Coats & Clark’s in celebration of their sesquicentennial in 1962. For some reason I couldn’t put the little thing down, and I think it’s because of the charming illustrations on the front and the back. And at $1, who wouldn’t take this little guy home?
