Iowa winters can be long and cold. For me one of the hardest parts can be that there are absolutely no garages sales and few tag sales to attend. There are the thrift stores but they get old fast. The small local vintage, antique and consignment shops are a fun alternative. This Thursday, I found myself a Christmas present at a consignment shop. I only paid $18.00 and it’s a little reminder that spring is around the corner.
It is Roseville Pottery in the Apple Blossom pattern. The Apple Blossom pattern was introduced in 1949 and in production until 1954. This pattern came in three colors: pink, green and blue, like mine. This flowerpot is in the window box shape. Perfect for planting flowers in and placing on your window sill.
The bottom is clearly marked Roseville U.S.A. and numbered 368-8.
As you can see the inside needs a little TLC. It looks as if this flowerpot may have sat on the previous owners desk and used as a pencil holder.
So if you have the winter blues remember that spring will be here before we know it. Trees will be blooming and garage doors will be opening! I can’t wait.
