My boys often tag along with me when I go to garage sales. They look around with the same excitment as I have. They also have a little charm and are often given things by the people having the garage sale. This just happened to be the case with these adorable little chickens my son was carrying around.
When I went to purchuse my other items, the lady having the sale told him the chickens were his and he could just have them. Well I knew he wouldn’t play with them for long, but certainly I could find a place to display a pair of vintage 1960s egg-laying chickens at Easter time. They are marked made in Hong Kong and were distributed by Easter Unlimited Inc. in New York. Each chicken would have originally come with three eggs that pop out when you push down on them. They each only have one egg left, but how crazy that they have stayed with these little chickens since the 1960s. If only my boys wouldn’t have been along and I could have put them in their Easter baskets this year.
